My office is located in downtown Redlands, directly above the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, in the Citrus Plaza Shopping Center. Enter through the glass door at the front of the building, and go up the stairs. My office is located at the top of the stairs, to the right.
Because this is a historic building, there is no elevator access. If you need accommodations, ask about online or phone sessions.
FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I’m a preferred provider for Loma Linda Risk Management, and I also accept the Southeastern California Conference of SDA’s Anonymous Counseling coupons. For all other insurance, I am out-of-network.
If you have another insurance you want to use, I can provide you with an invoice (called a “superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance to seek reimbursement for my services. I recommend you call your insurance carrier and ask if they cover out-of-network providers, as well as inquire about any deductibles, copays, or session limits.
It is also important to note that most insurances only cover treatment for a diagnosable mental disorder. Couples therapy is generally not covered, unless it is part of treatment for an individual with a diagnosed disorder. Counseling for personal growth is also not generally covered by insurance. I’m happy to discuss any additional questions you have.
How long is a session, and what is the cost?
Sessions are from 45 minutes to an hour long, and from $125 to $150 per session. I also offer longer sessions for couples and families if needed. Let me know if you are interested in that option, and we can discuss the details.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, personal check, and all major credit cards.
Do I need to come to therapy every week?
Before we schedule our first session, we will talk about what your goals are for therapy. If you are working on goals that will allow for more flexible scheduling, that is certainly an option. In the beginning, our sessions should be more frequent in order for us to establish a good working relationship and gain momentum toward your goals. After you feel like you are making progress, we can lengthen the time between sessions.
Do you have a waiting list?
My schedule is often very full, so if I don’t have openings that fit for both of us, I can offer you referrals to other professionals in the area that I think might be a good fit for you. I don’t maintain a waiting list because it could keep you from getting the help and support you need right now. Because I can’t predict when my schedule will open up, I don’t want you to lose time on a waiting list when you could be moving forward with another therapist.
